Modern Mid Century Decorative Concrete Blocks
I know I’m not the only one who drives past the J.N. Pease Building at 2925 E. Independence Blvd. and marvels over the awesome decorative concrete blocks across the entire facade of the building. Either in landscape design or architecture, these stone screens add interest to any building or make an area of your yard private while still allowing light and welcoming breezes to pass through.

Celebrating the mid-century modern pool
What better way to beat the Charlotte heat than to jump into your mid century modern pool! I feel better just looking at these beauties! Take me away!

Lovingly updated and restored, this 1955 modern ranch by architect Paul Christian Yeager clearly displays its Frank Lloyd Wright influence.
Container homes are popping up everywhere!
It’s estimated that 90 percent of the world’s trade today moves in containers – containers that crisscross the world’s oceans each year in over 5,000 container ships. After they are used a few times they become used shipping containers that nobody wants so they just sit around taking up space. Designers all over the world are re-inventing the shipping container. They are giving us lots of cool, amazing options and are helping solve some real ecological problems at the same time.
Cool Out on your Modern Charlotte Patio
One thing we all love about Mid-Century Modern homes are their seamless connection to Nature! Over-sized glass sliders open onto expansive patios – so of course you will want to glam your patio with cool modern gear.
Some of my fave patio furniture pieces are from Russel Woodard’s "Sculptura" Line. Check out eBay. www.JetSetModern.com had the settee and 4 chairs for sale. yum.

This great design was found in Lansdowne. The home is a totally renovated 60′s contemporary that is nothing short of fabulous. More on the house and Lansdowne coming!

modern charlotte loves a cool front door
Modern Charlotte fans and friends sent pictures of their doors so I had to post them now didn’t I ? Nice array of original retro modern to the new made to look like the original. Threw in a swanky double door that just was hung on a new construction modern in Sherwood Forest. Check out the Bernstein’s new front door with the circular glass to match the glass bubble windows.

modern charlotte loves mod doors
Love those double doors, glass surrounds and center knob! Asian motifs are popular in the original design and with the homeowners.
